Do Malamutes really love the outdoors?
Yes they do. Malamutes are an Arctic dog in every sense of the word. They prefer to be outside when it’s 20 degrees and freezing compared to being inside by the warm fire. We spend our summers outside with all of our animals. Even though we raise our Mals inside you could easily find them outside lying on the porch or on the back deck in the snow during the winter. So unlike other dogs keep your Malamute outside most of the time especially during the winter, you will have a happier dog for sure. Definitely give them a home in the shade during the summer, even though they will often dig during the summer to find a cooler spot to lay in. NEVER shave your Malamute.
