Do magnetic bearings require maintenance?
Magnetic bearings do not wear. This eliminates mechanical maintenance and provides extended service life. However, preventative maintenance of auxiliary components such as touchdown bearings and electrical connections is recommended. As part of Revolve’s standard software, MBScope™, a Clearance Check screen is available for users to verify the condition of the auxiliary bearings without dismantling the machine. MBScope™ also offers diagnostic information, which provides in-depth knowledge of the health of the plant system supported by the magnetic bearings. This allows for better scheduling of preventative maintenance.
