Do low-carbohydrate diets work?
I remember the Atkins wave was very popular. My mother and two of my brothers undertook this diet. All three of them lost weight quickly. However, when they ended their diets the weight did not stay off. As with all “diets” they are only as affective as their timeline. What everyone seems to ignore about a diet is that it must come to an end. It isn’t exactly healthy to have a low carbohydrate intake for years on end. Just like a high protein diet this must be carefully managed to make sure you’re still properly nourished. If exercise is a part of your routine for weight loss, then you need carbohydrates to help supply you with enough energy.
