Do lovebird need Cuttlebones?
Cuttle bones are an important source of minerals, especially calcium which is lacking in a seed diet, although you shouldn’t feed an all seed diet, pellet feed is much healthier. If your lovebird doesn’t want the cuttle bones, then feed him a pellet diet and he will get the minerals and calcium he needs from that, but my lovebirds loved cuttle bones, I’m sure yours will, just leave it in his cage and he will try it. The calcium in the cuttle bone makes your birds bones strong, and if it is a female and lays an egg they use a lot of calcium for the shell, so they need to take in more calcium to replace what they lose during laying.
