Do lobsters and crab have pain receptors? ?

0

Yes, crustaceans have a brain and pain receptors. Their brain is basically an enlargement and specialization of one anterior bulge of nerve cells and is nothing like the incredibly specialized brain and central nervous system humans have. While it may seem cruel, there aren’t any laws regarding the mistreatment of invertebrates. In scientific research the scientists are allowed to do whatever they want to invertebrates while there are rules a mile long regarding what you can do to an organism with a spine. It’s just the way it is (in america at least). If you’re wanting to eat/cook lobster or craps, it’s more humane towards their nervous system if you stick them in a freezer for a few hours before boiling them. In freezing them, you’re slowing down their systems to the point where they basically fall asleep and eventually die without feeling a thing except slightly chilly. Once they’re frozen you can boil them without moral objections.
