Do libraries have copies of newspapers that date back to the 1940s?

Depends on the library of course. After I googled and wikipediaed her name to see what info I could find on her 1st poem I would find out what newspapers were in print at that time in Boston. Then I would look up and call libraries in Boston or even try the N.Y. public library in Manhattan.A large library might have what you’re looking for on microfilm maybe not the actual paper itself because of the amount of storage required. In the 40’s there were many, many more newspapers around before TV.You got your news from the radio and newspapers.
