Do legitimate modeling agencies ever charge fees?
Many agencies will charge you for putting together a portfolio, and for the promotion they do on your behalf. However, no legitimate agency will ask you for money upfront- money would normally be taken once you begin earning. Be wary of “admin. fees”, or anyone who promises fame and fortune if you give them huge amounts of money to produce a portfolio. Consider that good, legitimate agencies will only recruit people who they believe to have a genuine chance of making a good model, and have the contacts and resources to promote someone to give them their best chance; therefore they are always confident that any money spent on creating portfolios etc will be re-cuperated. You should be suspicious of any agency that takes you on too easily when you approach them, and then immediatly asks you for money. Generally the harder they make it for you, the better the agency is likely to be. On the other hand, if you’re interested in modelling there’s nothing wrong with paying a small amount (I’d
