Do LEDs produce a different colour of light to normal?

0

There are many different colours of lighting all around us. Sodium lamps (like those used in street lamps) produce an orange glow. Tungsten Halogen and Metal Halide produce a slightly warm glow, often with a blue or green tinge. LEDs produce a cool white colour, very like daylight. For this reason, white light LEDs will produce a different aesthetic in the built environment. Metal Halide lights in particular suffer from colour degradation, meaning their colour changes over time. Where there is more than one light, this can become very noticeable and gives an uneven appearance which is not particularly pleasing aesthetically. Because they have very low levels of degradation, LEDs deliver a consistent colour, consistently over time.
