Do Latino people go skiing?
Anyone can ski. No one is going to die being out in the cold unless they are dressed poorly, and that has nothing to do with race. I work at a ski area that is close to a number of colleges. They often have student exchange programs where students from climates where there is no snow at all end up in western New York, where we get a whole lot of snow. Those students are brought to our ski area so that they can learn to ski, and learn about how we live with and even enjoy all that snow. Teaching someone to ski who has never seen snow is tricky because they don’t have a basic understanding of how slippery it is, or that it can pack or move. People from Latin America simply don’t have experience with snow since it doesn’t snow in Latin America. It’s hard to ski where there is no snow. For the same reason, I don’t have any experience surfing because there just aren’t surfable waves on Lake Ontario.
