Do lasers cause any side effects ?
The more complete your doctor’s mastery of the equipment, the less the chance of side effects. In any case they are limited and usually reversible. This is why you should follow the advice that your future doctor gives you during your initial free session at the Centre. It is always possible to receive slight burns on the surface of the skin in the form of light scabs. These may appear 48 hours after the session and will disappear without a trace within two weeks. More rarely, reactions involving hyper- or hypo-pigmentation may be observed on the area treated. These are also reversible. However, it is important to distinguish normal effects of treatment from side effects. It is normal to experience skin redness and a hot sensation on the area treated, both of which disappear in a few hours. In addition, cooling techniques make it possible to considerably reduce these temporary effects. Laser treatment is generally performed in conjunction with a cooling of the epidermis.
