Do kids still keep caterpillars in jars to watch them turn into butterflies?

I mind four children on a part-time basis and we do this regularly, along with collecting jars of swamp water filled withe frogs eggs and watching them change. We also collect flowers and leaves for the ‘press’ and use them to make greeting cards, book marks. etc. These children do not watch TV and have very limited access to a computer.
