Do kids even play baseball anymore?
I ran across LLWS coverage, and at the time I realized something: I can’t remember the last time I saw kids playing baseball. I don’t mean Little League. I mean just regular, pickup baseball. Sandlot baseball, if you will. I see kids playing football and and pick up basketball, and I see kids doing sports like skateboarding and street hockey. But it has been at least a decade since the last time I saw kids just playing some form of baseball just for fun. Have I just missed it, or are kids not playing baseball anymore. If they aren’t, I can’t help but think that that can’t be good for the future of the sport. Assuming the MLB doesn’t kill it sooner.
