Do Kia vehicles have higher repair costs than other brands?

I am looking at buying a 2005 or 2006 Kia Amante. I like the car and it has really good customer reviews on CarMax but I someone told me the repairs are expensive. Any advice confirming this or disproving it would be appreciated. I just want to know I’m getting a quality car that will last for a while b/c I have a Chevy Malibu right now and it turned out to be a headache and a piece of junk.
