It’s my understanding that Jehovah’s Witnesses believe Jesus is the archangel Michael. Let’s suppose they are correct for the sake of argument that John 1:1 says the word is “a god”. They still need to look better at the Bible and see what kind of “a god” Jesus is. He accepted worship, forgave sins, performed miracles, demonstrated many attributes of God. The name “Jesus” means “Jehovah Saves”. The name “Emmanuel” means “God with us”. I’m convinced John 1:1 should read “God”. I’m convinced Jesus humbled himself temporarily.
