Do items procured by UNICEF meet quality standards?
UNICEF applies the highest international standards and regulatory frameworks of safety and compliance to all the products we procure and deliver to the field. We systematically conduct product testing and quality control inspections with quality assurance staff conducting over 2,500 inspections at UNICEF Supply Division in Copenhagen in 2007. An additional 280 pre-delivery inspections were completed by inspection companies at supplier’s premises for goods shipped directly to the field. As part of the procurement tendering process the quality of over 700 product samples were also evaluated in that year.
