Do IT auditors give technical support to the rest of audit?

0

Sometimes but that is certainly not their main purpose in life. Because of their technical competence, familiarity with technology and their links within IT (OK, because they are self-effacing geeks), IT auditors often find themselves nominated as local IT co-ordinators within the audit function but have to balance this rle with the demands of their scheduled audit work. In much the same way, financial auditors might be willing to give advice to colleagues on their tax returns etc. but should not be expected to do so to the extent that audit assignments run late. It’s all a matter of balance and judgement. And discreet bribery.
