Do international teaching assistants (ITAs) have to repeat the SPEAK test at the end of EAP 5836?

No. They meet UF oral proficiency requirements through an exit evaluation. Representatives of their academic departments, usually the graduate coordinator and/or course supervisor, meet with the ASE instructor to review videotapes of the ITA’s teaching. A passing score on this performance review allows the ITA to continue teaching under normal departmental supervision.
