Do insects and fish sleep?
They do sleep. For insects, it’s a form of relaxation. If you’ve noticed, some insects keep still in during a certain time of the day. Although they are asleep, they do not lose consciousness. They still react rapidly to stimuli. They don’t close their eyes like we do, for they do not have eyelids. For fishes, yes, they do sleep to. They keep still in water when they are asleep. It isn’t really obvious because they don’t have any eyelids either. They sleep in a way that their metabolic process slows down, but their brain activity remains the same.
