Do Indirect Cost rates apply to technicians?
No. The FTE used as the denominator for indirect costs is based on research staff on the project (PIs; RAs; PGRs) and in this respect, technicians are not regarded as research staff. What about grant transfers? It will be possible to transfer fEC grants – in the same way as pre-fEC. Grants will not be re-costed. The balance of unspent Directly Incurred and Exceptions, plus a pro-rata share of Directly Allocated and Indirect costs will be available for transfer, following a financial reconciliation of the grant. What information will Research Organisations be asked to provide at the end of grant reconciliation? Directly Incurred and Exceptions will be reconciled against actual payments made. Directly Allocated and Indirect Costs will be paid as awarded. Why do RCs use the GDP deflator as the basis for indexation?
