Do impatiens bloom all year?
Impatiens can do very nicely in the indoors, and they will keep on blooming in waves. They tend to get a little spindlier indoors, but if you get a double-bloom that looks like a rosette, the blooms will fill in any spindliness, and pinch back to keep shorter and bushier. You can turn this spindliness to your advantage by letting the stems grow long and let them drape like a hanging plant. Plant a little ivy or other compatible trailing plant with it to fill and for added texture. Impatiens are a snap to clone, and just about any clipping or trimming will make a new plant for you. Impatiens, although a low-light plant, will quickly turn to the sun, so rotate the plant frequently. How long you can stretch your plant depends on a number of factors, but as they are so easy to clone, if it gets to the point you need to replace the plant, its replacements are already there waiting. You can even grow Impatiens in a light-proof jug of water and some rocks. I love having Impatiens indoors, esp
