Do i use yell and other directories or word of mouth?
Word of mouth is always the best form of promotion but it takes time until your reputation builds up. Find out which directories are most used in your local area by talking to other businesses. For example, in our local area there’s a directory published that is used by everyone in preference to Yellow Pages. Think about who your target market is and find out where they’re most likely to look for services like yours. If you’re targeting local businesses, it may be better to go to business networking events where you can build up trust with other business owners who will recommend you to their network. Never restrict your marketing to just one method but monitor the results from each type, that is, always ask people who enquire about your services where they found out about you. You’ll start to see which forms of advertising are more effective. Good luck!
