Do I send a gift after receiving a college graduation announcement?
It is customary to at least send a congratulations card to graduates who send you an announcement. A check for a small amount of money or a small gift is usually what the graduate expects when they send you an announcement.
Most of the time the graduation announcement is not an invitation (since seating is limited), rather a friendly announcement of graduation to keep you in the loop.
what to give: Being a college student, i can tell you that you can’t lose when it comes to money. Send her a $25 visa gift card. She doesn’t knwo you that well so it is just her way of acknowledging you guys. Do the same for her but dont Over-do it. when to give it: If you are attending her graduation, you can take it and give it to her there or take it to her graduation party if she’s having one. IF you aren’t going, send her a letter with a “sorry we can’t make it, but we want to help you celebrate” card. Hallmark will have just the thing. Enclose the gift card and send it to her about a week b4 graduation. Hope this helps!!!
