Do i sand walls before painting after stripping wallpaper off?
Only if it is lumpy bumpy or has paste residue on it. Do not use heavy sandpaper, nothing more than a P120 grade as you do not wanty to gouge the plaster. If the wall surface is stable and not powdery, go ahead and apply two coats of water-based emulsion. If they are unstable, friable or problematic then first apply a coat of Bullseye 1-2-3, but this is expensive and only necessary if the wall is problematic. A lot of people here are under the false impression that painted walls must be primed, this is not normal.
