Do I require an LCD or DLP projector to data conference with the SMART Board?
The SMART Board can be used in non-projection mode as a whiteboarding surface using dry-erase markers. Even without a projector, these notes are captured into a computer file in electronic ink either in SMART Notebook or in the whiteboard or notebook portion of a Board-Aware conferencing application. All other participants can view these notes as well as make changes. To gain the full utility of a SMART Board, you required a projector.
