Do I require additional software to use WebIRESS?
WebIRESS is a web-based application so no additional software is required on your computer. However, your operating system will need to support browsers with Java enabled. Your computer should pass the ‘connection’ test (found at http://web.iress.com.au/info/connectiontest.htm) as well as meeting the following WebIRESS requirements: • A Pentium3 500MHZ class machine with a minimum of 256MB RAM • Any Microsoft windows operation system supported by Internet Explorer or Mozilla/Firefox with Java enabled • Sun Java 1.5.0_06 or above (to download visit www.java.com). To check if you have java, on your browser go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced. Scroll down and about halfway down there should be a java icon if you have java installed • At least a 15″ colour monitor is required, but a 17″ monitor is recommended. Resolution of greater than 1024 x 768 is required • A network connection quality of a 56k modem or above is required, but broadband is highly recommended • Personal firewall
