No licence is generally required to remove asbestos cement building products. The exception is when more than 200 square metres of AC roofing material is to be removed, in which case a class 3 demolition licence is required (regulation 3.117 read with regulation 3.114). An asbestos removal licence is required removal of thermal and acoustic asbestos products (regulation 5.45 read with regulation 5.42).
