Yes, but they are basically crunchy, pill-sized versions of junior mints. When you notice that Altoids have no artificial flavorings (the main flavors are natural vanilla and oil of peppermint) they seem more respectable than many common brands containing vanillin and other artificial flavors. Overall, I find these chocolate dipped peppermints the “Grey Poupon” of mints. They have an upscale look, ingredients and price, and the taste is slightly better than average. However, it will take a lot of pill-sized Altoids to soothe your hunger pangs, so you might want to keep a Peppermint Pattie handy for hunger emergencies and alpine rescue missions.
