No! Our SafetyCrete EPDM rubber product never needs to be sealed. Comparing our product to River Rock is like comparing apples to oranges. Our rubber granules are bonded together on the molecular level and once cured, are bonded for the life of your deck. River Rock is bonded with an epoxy which is all the holds the rocks together. Once the epoxy breaks down, the rocks come apart. This is why you need to seal River Rock once a year to ensure the rocks stay together. With EPDM, you never need to reseal anything since rubber granules hold rubber granules together and don’t begin breaking down until 15 to 20 years after the installation.
