Do I need to use the second cinch on a western saddle?

1. If your cinch will buckle into the tie strap (latigo), then you do not need to knot it. Some latigos don’t have enough holes, and if your horse is smaller especially you will have to knot the latigo. Sounds like you know how. But the best way is if your saddle fits right and there’s a hole in the latigo right where you need it (correct tightness). 2. On the breastcollar, always leave it until your main cinch is fully tightened. Never fasten the breastcollar or back cinch first. If the horse moves suddenly, a big wreck could happen and your saddle/horse could be damaged. You buckle the breastcollar to the D-rings at the front of your saddle. The strap below goes between the horse’s front legs and buckles to the D-ring on the cinch. If the D-ring on the cinch is off centered under the horse’s belly, you should loosen your cinch again, go to the right side and tighten or loosen the off-billet so that the cinch will be centered under the horse’s belly. 3. You don’t have to use the back
