Do I need to use the locking clip for a Mercury Mariner 08 in the center seat?
Vehicles sold in the U.S. since the 1996 model year have been required to have seatbelts that lock in some way for installing child restraints and don’t require the use of a locking clip. That said, if you’re by any chance installing the Scenera rear facing with a lap-shoulder belt that locks at the shoulder belt retractor, you might find it helpful to use a locking clip instead of locking the seatbelt at the retractor to possibly avoid having the Scenera tilt.
