YES you need sunscreen under tanning oil!! The SPF will not prevent your tan – it blocks the UV rays from damaging your skin cells. Your cells will still produce melanin (the darker pigment = tan), especially since you have medium skin to start with. The tanning oil is going to magnify the sun rays and can be very damaging, causing a burn much quicker than without tanning oil. Do not use the tanning oil on your face. Your facial skin is much less forgiving if problems occur….
