Yes, you need to purchase a GSM Modem / Mobile Phone. A computer connected to a GSM Modem / Mobile Phone having a SIM Card facilitates the sending and receiving of SMS. SMS Connexion is thoroughly tested over Nokia 30, Nokia 32 GSM Modem. Ideally any GSM device with any one of the following modes of connectivity: Data Cable, Infrared or Bluetooth will be detected by SMS ConneXion and you may send / receive SMS. But the with the innumerable devices being released every day, it is practically impossible to guarantee that every device is tested for SMS ConneXion compatibility. However, in the future we will put up a list of GSM devices against which SMS ConneXion has been tested in our development center.
