Yes, The surface needs to be cleaned with lacquer thinner or MEK to remove any silicones, oils, or grease before applying Bumpercoat. This allows Bumpercoat to penetrate the surface & bond to the surface for a lasting finish. For TPO and EPDM plastics you need to spray polyprep primer before applying Kolorbond.
