Yes, it’s a pre requisite of taking the Driver CPC theory tests. Also you must present a valid learner permit on the day of testing as part of the identification checks. If you do not have an Irish drivers licence or Irish learner permit for CAT D or CAT C you will not be allowed to sit the test.
