Do I need to order the optional Light Input Adapter and an additional light source (Portable Illuminator, Ring light Assembly, etc. ) when using a SIGHT-PIPE for my part?
Typically no, but….it depends on your application. If you are using a hand held SIGHT-PIPE to inspect a reflective part in a well lit room you are probably going to be okay. I recommend taking a look without one to see if it is satisfactory first. You can always add one later if desired. Additional light sources do improve the image you see and Lite Input Adapters do provide more consistant light if you are checking for colors etc. Additionally, the Lite Input Adapter is easier to use than continually trying to “hand hold” a penlight etc. in addition to the SIGHT-PIPE. Vision or Sensor systems will always require addtional illumination. The Boreview system has it’s own illumination system built in.
