• Yes. To access content on your network, you will need to turn that device on. One single advantage is that computer can be located anywhere on your network. So if your computer is quite loud, leave it in the den/family room/office and put the noiseless MediaMVP beside the TV. Some people run servers 24×7 at home, so these make great MediaMVP servers. Just add a tuner card for full functionality of a PVR.
