Do I need to do a driving test when moving to Italy?

Not 100% sure, but if they use similar rules to the UK, then it goes like this. You’ll need an international driver’s licence as a starting point (assuming you don’t have a UK or other EC driving licence) This will allow you todrive for a period of time (in the UK I think it’s a year) You will then need to pass the local driving test. Now there is a weasel which you used to be able to get away with in the UK. You only had to take the test if you were domiciled in the UK for over twelve months, so what you did was spend a month resident in another country and then return to the UK again. My brother had a girlfriend who had dual UK and Dutch nationality and she used to go back to see family for a month in the summer whilst she was at uni. She only had to pass her test when she left college and eventually settled for good here.
