Truphone Anywhere for Android does not use Wi-Fi to make calls so you don’t need to be connected to the internet to make Truphone calls on your Android. Truphone makes a local call to your country’s domestic Truphone number, and then connects the long-distance part of the call over the internet. This means big savings on international calls. Please note, Truphone servers in certain countries require the user to have a data connection (via Wi-Fi or 3G) for the call to be set up.
