Do I need to be concerned if I see the message “no canvas2dGen in java.library.path” when KNIME starts on Windows?
If Knime generates error messages like “no canvas2dGen in java.library.path” on startup, it is likely that there is an incompatibility in the mmshare version. To check whether this is so, compare the mmshare version in your installation with that in the knime.bat script. The installation contains a folder named mmshare-version, which provides the installed version. The version in knime.bat is the version on the line set MMSHARE_VERSION=version If these versions do not agree, edit knime.bat and change the version to match that in the installation. Knime will run without issues with this incompatibility, but you will not be able to use the 2D renderer.
