Do I need to be concerned about my three year olds fussy eating habits?
Your daughter sounds like many other children. There are some who eat everything that is put in front of them, but these are the minority. Once children reach the age where they feel they can start to have some control over what happens to them (around 18 months) they begin to exert their will. Babies who have been quite good eaters start to become faddy and awkward. As long as you are not giving your daughter too much unhealthy snack food, eg crisps and biscuits, she is likely to be getting enough of the essential vitamins and minerals. Bread is a good food (vary the type for maximum nutrition), and pasta, rice and potatoes are often popular with children. Vary the way that you offer these basic foods. If she eats some protein foods either as cheese, eggs, meat or fish, then she will be getting enough protein, and milk provides plenty of calcium and fat.
