Do I need to Autosync while I am using the new direct capture to MPEG4?
In the new PowerEdit version of 7.1, a new capture format was introduced that allows users to capture directly to MPEG4 format. This option can be found by clicking the DV Setup button in the Editor Station. Past users of PowerEdit are familiar with the MPEG4 format when they would capture in DV format and Autosync to MPEG4. MPEG4 is a much smaller format and allows for much faster transfer times. And also since the video quality between MPEG4 and DV are barely distinguishable, it is a much better format to use. Now that users are able to capture directly to MPEG4, there is no need to autosync video while capturing. The only time you need to autosync video is when capturing in DV format or if users import DV files from other editing stations or Firestore drives. Remember, if capturing in MPEG4 format, do not run autosync.
