Do I need SQL Server for the Bootcamp?

The 70-306 Certification Exam (and thus the Bootcamp) has a heavy concentration on ADO.Net, and in order to successfully go through the Textbook and its exercises, you will need either MSDE (Microsoft Desktop Engine) or SQL Server installed. MSDE is free and is available as part of the Microsoft .Net Framework installation–although you may need to hunt for it on your CD. For more information on MSDE, check out this link http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/?url=/technet/security/msdeapps.asp MSDE is also installed as part of Visual Basic.Net Professional and Enterprise (if you have those). You may want to consider SQL Server 2000 instead. You can download a 120 day trial version of SQL Server 2000 via this link (or you can do as I do and send for the CD).
