No. The EthIR LAN system makes use of CAT3 or CAT5 cabling. Regular RJ45 cables support the EthIR Beams attached to the EthIR LAN system as well as 10/100 BaseT uplinks to an existing network. The uplink of ES101 and ES1000 is 10BaseT. ES301, ES208/216 have 10/100BaseT uplink. ESB3011b has 802.11b uplink.
