Do I need bug-spray on my trip to China (Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Guilin)?
Not if you want to, when I went to Beijing and Chongqing I didn’t need any. Try not to eat like a foreigner (KFC, McDonald’s), I mean taste the local food When in Beijing try the Tea eggs and fried bread loaves with hot soy milk for breakfast it’s great $2.00, also try the Peking duck I can’t remember the name of the restaurant famous for it but if you ask I’m sure someone can tell you. There is a Flea Market just past main tower at Tienanmen square, don’t be afraid to haggle for better price. Make sure you go to the bathroom before you go to any restaurants, most do not have bathrooms plus make sure you always carry toilet paper and plenty of bottled water.
