Do i need a vet that knows about tortoises?
Yes! The physiological make up and metabolism of a tortoises in no way resembles that of a cat, dog or other regular UK pet. Therefore any vet prroviding treatment for illness, worming, or general health checks must have a good knowledge of reptiles and preferablyy tortoises. A tortoise takes longer to metabolise such things as antibiotics and there are also a number of drugs, used on other pets, that would kill a tortoise.
