By law, every UK haulage company must have a designated Transport Manager who holds a Certificate of Professional Competence. Basic questions such as tachograph usage and exemptions are part of the examination for this Certificate. As a holder of a Certificate of Professional Competence for International Haulage operations, I am very concerned that this question needs to be posed at all. If the questionner cares to let me know his Operators Licence number, then I will ensure that his premises are visited by the Enforcement Section of VOSA.
