Do I Need a RAM Upgrade for My Portege M400 Tablet PC?

0

Portege M400 tablet PCs purchased in 2006 are now out of warranty and must be replaced. Those purchased in 2007 with were originally supplied with 2 GB of RAM. The M400 has two slots for RAM modules, and typically both slots are occupied by a 1-GB module for a total of 2 GB. The maximum RAM capacity of the M400 is 4 GB, consisting of two 2-GB modules, which would replace any existing RAM. We recommend a minimum of 2 GB of RAM for M400s running Windows 7. Thus for most users the currently installed RAM will be adequate. Increasing RAM to 3 GB to 4 GB by purchasing one or two 2-GB modules may benefit some users, for example, those who edit graphics or video. When you purchase RAM modules from the Richards Computer online store, they will be delivered to CCDS, and we will install them for you in the Technology Office. Installation is included in the purchase price of $49 per module. Not sure how much RAM is installed in your computer? See above.
