as you asked about Australia I will not tell you anything about the UK because you did not ask If you have a full motorcycle ( Riders) licence you can ride and carry passengers on a motorcycle or in a Sidecar a UK car licence will not allow you to ride a motorcycle or a motorcycle combination but you can ride a Tike IN NSW on a car licence here in Australia we have different rules to UK first you get a permit Like A UK learners licence which restricts you to carrying passengers on a motorcycle then when you pass your test you are on a red Provisional Licence subject to a Max of 90 Kpa for one year with a Zero Blood Alcohol Concentration then a green P indicating your second year as a provisional driver or rider so if you have had a full driving/Motorcycle ( Riders) licence for 2 years or more you can ride a Motorcycle and combination a Trike and a Car on your UK licence And We All drive on the same side of the Road.
