Do I need a cation or anion exchanger?

If you have experience with conventional chromatography resin, we recommend that you use the same class of ion exchanger. For example, if you are currently using a preparative DEAE-based resin, we advise you to work with the Sartobind D Membrane Adsorber. If you dont know the character of your sample, it is recommended to start with a strong exchanger. If you dont know pI start with Strong exchangers as Q (anionic) and S (cationic) are fully charged over a broad pH range (pH 2-12). Weak exchangers as D (anionic) and C (cationic) are charged over a smaller pH range (pH 2-9 and pH 6-10).
