Do I need a B.A. in art history to apply to the Masters Program in Modern Art History, Theory + Criticism (MAAH)?

No. We have many incoming students from a variety of undergraduate majors. However, the MAAH graduate program is an advanced degree intended for specialized study, so we admit only those students who have a working knowledge of modern and contemporary art history and/or theory to the program. 18 credit hours (approx. 6 classes) in the history and theory of art, film, or architecture is a pre-requisite to enter the program. You may apply with fewer than 18 hours with the expectation that they will be complete by the time you start the program.
